Introduction to oxy-fuel cutting and welding for auto/diesel mechanics. Welding of steel plate in the flat position with emphasis on shop safety. Also covers air-carbon arc gouging.

  2. Describe oxy-fuel operating principles.
  3. Safely setup and operate oxy-fuel equipment.
  4. Use the oxy-fuel process to weld steel.
  5. Use the oxy-fuel process to cut carbon steel plate to a given specification.
  6. Safely setup and operate air-carbon arc gouging equipment.
  7. Effectively remove weld metal using air-carbon arc gouging.
