Principles and practices relating to weld procedure qualification and welder certification. Limited thickness, all-position GMAW welder qualification test on carbon steel in conformity with AWS and WABO standards.

 Prerequisite  

Prerequisite: 2 credits from any WT course or Department Chair permission.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Interpret State of Washington (WABO) welder qualification testing standards.
  2. Prepare and weld plates for all position, limited thickness GMAW welder qualification test.
  3. Extract, prepare, and bend weld test specimens from carbon steel test plates.
  4. Pass welder qualification test in accordance with WABO 27-13-A.
