Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Identify values and beliefs about family, community, culture, language, socio-economic and other identity issues and how they affect membership in a larger pluralistic society and the role of educator.
  2. Define terms and display an understanding of philosophies, persons and approaches to education that support diversity and cultural pluralism.
  3. Demonstrate the abilitiy to articulate effective strategies for teaching and learning that reflect a pluralistic approach to educational change.
  4. Select materials, resources and approaches to working with learners that are antibiased and implemented in a culturally responsive manner.
