Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Demonstrate basic knowledge of US History in fulfillment of HS21+ diploma requirements.
   • Be familiar with major developments in United States history.
   • Understand how major global events in history have shaped events in the United States today. For example, industrialism, colonialism, World Wars I and II, the Revolutionary War, the nuclear arms race, etc.
2. Demonstrate basic knowledge of US Government in fulfillment of HS21+ diploma requirements.
   • Demonstrate knowledge of the purposes, organization, and function of governments, laws, and political systems.
   • Evaluate past and /or present factors of change and conflict and their impact on government policies, law, and political systems on the community.
   • Demonstrate understanding of communications that express positions in policy and political systems.
