Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Explain the importance and relevance of planning in a business and distinguish between various types of plans (operational, strategic, functional) and the application of each.
  2. Identify the relationships between different business functions and the impact that actions and choices in one might have on others.
  3. Develop an analysis of external and internal factors affecting a company�s or industry�s operating environment.
  4. Synthesize situation analyses into actionable assessments. Develop related strategies and action plans. Identify measures to track performance.
  5. Create �what if� scenarios and develop contingency plans.
  6. Create and present a final plan that integrates acquired functional knowledge.
