Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Explain the relationships between whole, integer, rational, real, and complex numbers
  2. Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and simplify rational expressions
  3. Plot points, sketch, and describe the graphs of quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions
  4. Solve problems that can be represented by systems of equations and inequalities
  5. Solve quadratic functions, equations, and inequalities
  6. Know and use the basic properties of exponential and logarithmic functions in order to solve them
  7. Construct new functions using transformations
  8. Calculate and interpret measures of variability, standard deviation, and margin of error
