Introduction to basic and advanced digital illustration. Use Adobe Illustrator to create vector-based graphics and artwork.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Understand and define basic digital image concepts and terminology.
2. Use Illustrator tools, menu bars and palettes.
3. Understand image size, resolution, color modes and viewing modes.
4. Create and edit shapes.
5. Create and edit type.
6. Select, align, and manipulate objects and drawings.
7. Organize artwork with layers.
8. Apply artistic effects and gradients.
9. Transform objects.
10. Apply color and paint.
11. Work with perspective drawings.
12. Blend colors and shapes.
13. Apply effects, attributes and styles.
14. Work with symbols.
15. Prepare graphics and images for the Web.
