Course Contents

  1. Skagit Valley College recognizes the need to provide a variety of co-curricular educational activities for students. The activities program focuses on the total development of students in unstructured learning situations. Some of the goals and objectives of these activities are to assist students in developing the ability to achieve greater self-awareness and acceptance, to use leisure time, to confront and solve problems, to function actively in a democratic society, to respond to and utilize change and to explore and experiment in ones' own quest for self-fullfilment.
  2. Students enrolled in POSC 131 must be active members of the associated student senate. Students are required to participate in a one-hour senate meeting each week and a formal evaluation procedure at the end of each meeting. Students are also required to serve on college governance committees.
