Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Identify and properly collect, press (preserve), and classify local plant species.
2. Identify plant families found in other regions.
3. Have a basic understanding of ethnobotanical uses of plants by different cultures.
4. Identify Pacific Northwest plant communities. Identify exotic plant species.
5. Understand the evolutionary development of major plant groups.
