 Course Description  

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training program for maritime industry training workers regarding their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards. Included is the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries forklift certification program. Forklift training is required for all operators of a forklift which is commonly used in the marine industry.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Demonstrate understanding of workplace safety.
2. Understand the roles and responsibilities of workers and supervisors at worksites.
3. Be knowledgeable about OSHA (Department of Occupational Safety and Health).
4. Understand what is required to pass the State of Washington OSHA 10 exam.
5. Understand what is required to pass the State of Washington Forklift Certification exam.
6. Understand common terminology related lift trucks in the marine industry.
