 Course Description  

Designed to assist in acquiring the basic inspection and operation practices and procedures for industrial lift trucks; specifically, internal combustion engine forklifts with solid, cushion, or pneumatic tires. A 3-year UBC qualification card will be issued upon successful completion.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Correctly list the categories or �classes� of lift trucks. Identify & describe the various attachments for lift trucks with their applications.
2. Identify standard hand signals used for lift trucks. List the items and functions to check when inspecting a lift truck.
3. Identify & demonstrate the safe operation guidelines for picking up, moving, and setting down loads.
4. Identify general maintenance tasks for lift trucks.
