 Course Description  

Focuses on the safe use of aerial lifts � specifically boom-supported aerial platforms and scissor-lifts. Learn to properly maintain and operate elevating work platforms in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, and in compliance with OSHA�s regulations (29 CFR 1910.67 & 29 CFR 1926.451-454) pertaining to aerial & scissor lift safety. Emphasizes pre-operational inspections and safety procedures for raising and lowering work platforms, safe driving procedures and parking procedures. A UBC qualification card will be issued upon successful completion.

2. Identify the factors that affect aerial lift stability, and state practices and procedures for preventing falls from aerial lifts.
3. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of using a scissor-lift. List the components and operating procedures for scissor-lifts.
4. Demonstrate the correct procedure for conducting a pre-shift inspection for scissor-lifts.
5. Demonstrate the correct procedure for conducting a pre-shift inspection for scissor-lifts.
6. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of using a self-propelled boom-supported aerial lift work platform.
7. List the components and operating procedures for a self-propelled boom-supported aerial lift work platform.
