 Course Description  

Focuses on practical applications of electrical circuits in heavy-duty equipment. Emphasis on the operation and testing of battery, starting and charging systems, wiring, connectors, circuit protection devices, gauges and warning systems, as well as wiring diagrams and symbols.

 Prerequisite  

Prerequisite: DSL 101 with a "D" or higher.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Understand and troubleshoot vehicle battery, starting, and charging systems.
2. Identify and repair wiring harnesses using the correct wire, connectors, etc.
3. Understand the operation of circuit protection devices, such as fuses, fusible links, and circuit breakers.
4. Understand the operation and troubleshooting techniques used in vehicle gauge and warning systems.
5. Understand and follow various types of manufacturer�s wiring diagrams.
