Course Description
Introduction to the expectations and requirements for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. A brief overview of the scaffold erector industry standards followed by an OSHA 10 outreach that will give each student the necessary skills and safety awareness needed to fulfill a long and healthy career. Emphasis will be placed on safety while assembling, using, and dismantling the various types of scaffolding and scaffold systems. Construction Fall protection will be discussed to prepare the student for the various types of fall hazards found in construction. Focuses on ropes and knots used in scaffolding to safely raise and lower material along with techniques for passing material by hand. In addition to identifying various types of fall protection, the student will determine the function and application for each type listed. Overhead protection and training requirements for scaffold erectors will be discussed.
