 Course Description  

Introduction to building a wood pole scaffold with working platforms offered from OSHA standards for the construction industry. Focuses on identifying the many types of decking that the scaffold erector uses. Also uses the standards and guidelines of subpart L to assist in the planning, layout, and construction of three different scaffolds made of wood.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Identify & describe the construction of a solid sawn, laminated, or pin locked plank along with their allowable capacity.
2. Identify & describe the construction of pro deck, ALP�s, and aluminum picks.
3. Demonstrate an understanding that a scaffold is a temporary working platform and can legally be constructed in many shapes and forms.
4. Acquire & maintain the knowledge & skills necessary to build wood pole scaffolds per industry standards.
5. Use OSHA subpart L 1926-452 to confirm any additional requirements applicable to specific types of scaffolds.
