 Course Description  

Focuses on the more technical layout and setup of frame scaffolding being used in both commercial and industrial settings. Learn how to erect side walk canopies with catch platforms capable of supporting falling objects using frames to build around cylindrical objects, such as a storage tank in a refinery, and hanging frames with cantilevers constructed from putlogs. Working drawings will be used to estimate the amount of gear needed to complete hands on projects.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Accurately estimate the amount of time and material needed to build the projects assigned. Estimate given loads imposed on frame catch platforms.
2. Erect sidewalk canopies and install beams and joists to build a catch platform for protection from falling objects.
3. Layout and erect Frames around cylindrical objects. Install putlogs to a supported Frame scaffold to provide additional cantilevered platform area.
