Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Evaluate key ideals established in preliminary, primary, and secondary source materials, including tribal treaties, the Washington State Constitution, and other fundamental documents.
  2. Evaluate the impact of individuals and movements on Washington State history by analyzing conflicting information from two or more sources.
  3. Describe the structure and functions of the Washington State government.
  4. Use dominant and marginalized narratives to explain the themes in and relationships between eras in Washington State history.
  5. Create a counter narrative that centers on their cultural backgrounds, their communities, and their experiences as sources of expertise.

  1. Topics may contain, but are not limited to, Washington state culture and economics, Washington State Constitution and tribal treaties, and major events in Washington State history.
