 Course Description  

Designed to increase awareness of the importance of correct and efficient use of mathematics for the Pile Driving trade. Topics include various mathematical computations using basic non-calculator methods. Introduction to the Construction Master Pro calculator, related math computations, and introduction to basic rigging components and how to properly use them in the Pile Driving trade.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Perform mathematical calculations: add, subtract, multiply, divide fractions, whole numbers, and decimal numbers with and without the use of a calculator.
2. Figure area volumes for square, rectangular, round, and various polygons.
3. Figure angles and sides for right triangles and other polygons.
4. Perform related math computations as they relate to the construction industry.
5. Use the Construction Master Calculator.
6. Perform the necessary rigging configurations, i.e. basket, choker, and vertical hitches on various types of rigging.
7. Calculate a load that is to be hoisted.
