 Course Description  

Provides the knowledge and skills necessary to implement strategies for managing classrooms, fostering positive relationships with students and families, and creating a safe and inclusive atmosphere for learning. Explore various classroom management techniques and develop the expertise needed to engage learners effectively while promoting self-direction and cooperation.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Teach students interpersonal skills that build the student's capacity to work effectively in small and large groups.
2. Collaborate with learners, families, and mentor teacher to foster a safe, positive learning environment rooted in openness, mutual respect, support, and inquiry.
3. Collaborate with learners and mentor teacher to establish shared values and expectations, promoting respectful interactions, rigorous academic discussions, and individual and group responsibility for quality work.
4. Manage the learning environment by utilizing resources of time, space, and attention.
5. Employ various methods to engage learners in evaluating and adjusting the learning environment.
