 Course Description  

This mathematics course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of essential mathematical concepts and skills that are crucial for their development as mathematically literate individuals. Through a combination of hands-on activities, problem-solving exercises, and engaging discussions, students will explore various mathematical topics, gain proficiency in mathematical operations, and develop a deep appreciation for the beauty of mathematics.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Use the properties of multiplication and the relationship between multiplication and division to recognize factors and multiples.
2. Use order of operations to solve multiplication and division problems effectively.
3. Analyze patterns and relationships with numbers.
4. Write numerical expressions that model the place value system.
5. Apply the place value system to multi-digit whole numbers.
6. Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with multi-digit numbers, up to two decimal places.
7. Order fractions on a number line.
8. Use equivalent fractions for adding and subtracting fractions.
9. Apply the operations of multiplication and division to fractions.
