 Course Description  

Interprets the Occupational Safety and Health Act 29, CFR 1926. Identify the common causes of accidents and fatalities in the hazardous areas of construction. Practice reading OSHA standards. Learn the definition of �Competent Person� and also the application of standards. A one-time OSHA�30 course completion card will be issued. Teaches the latest methods of life saving skills including airway, breathing, and circulation assessment using Medic First Aid Mark 5 teaching aids. A two-year card will be issued upon completion. Also focuses on the characteristics of confined spaces and requirements for a permit-required confined spaces program. Atmospheric hazards, proper ventilation, proper procedures for monitoring air quality, and the importance of the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be emphasized.
