 Course Description  

A comprehensive survey of archaeology introducing the student to methods, principles, ethics, and reconstruction of artifacts and sites used by archaeologists to reconstruct past cultures in the old and new world.

 Prerequisite  

Prerequisite: ENGL& 101 with a "C" or higher.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Understand where archaeology fits into the study of Anthropology.
2. Understand various archaeological techniques including dating, preservation.
3. Know various archaeological sites and their importance to human prehistory/history.
4. Understand the need for ethics in Archaeology.
5. Understand the various similariities/dissimilarities between Old World (classic) and New World Archaeology.
6. Understand the vocabulary of the descipline as well as the theories implicit in the dicipline.
