Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Sign with facility and speed
2. The significance of body and facial language in different settings
3. Demonstrate critical thinking in various social or professional settings
4. Identify cultural influences in signing
5. Understand and use appropriate facial expressions and body language in conjunction with conversational vocabulary.
6. Learn through visual instruction only (experiencing use of signs).
7. Deeper understanding of deaf culture and community interaction
8. Discuss issues and problems faced by the deaf community in a hearing world.
