Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Describe points, lines, and planes in the 3-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system.
  2. Plan a series of tool paths and cuts to render finished parts.
  3. Generate G & M codes to accomplish required tool paths and cuts.
  4. Run program using the dry run feature. Perform basic debugging and program editing.
  5. Demonstrate shop safety practices.
  6. Perform part cutting on CNC machine.
  7. Check dimensional accuracy of finished part. Determine acceptability based on design tolerances.
