After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of local and national legislative issues affecting education, educational environments, students and their families.
  2. Participate in pair or group discussions either against or in favor of particular issues.
  3. Display an awareness of local groups, agencies, and programs which impact education, educational issues and environments at a local, regional and national level.
  4. Identify articles, publications and other presentations which are relevant to education, families and communities.
  5. Review information, as above, and present a viewpoint orally or in writing on the material reviewed.
