 Course Description  

Provides students with supervised and assessed practical project-based work experiences that connect to a BASAM program learning outcome. Using a project management-based approach, and under the guidance of a workplace project sponsor, students will tackle a workplace problem or opportunity that will have been defined in BUS 410.

 Prerequisite  

Prerequisite: BASAM Director permission.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Apply the learning achieved from the BASAM course work to specific opportunities that exist in an organization as defined by a project charter agreed on with the workplace project sponsor.
  2. Investigate professional workplace practices such as time allocation, prioritization, and workplace discourse by researching their application in the workplace experience.
  3. Exhibit the interpersonal skills required of a manager such as teamwork and effective communications by participating in an evaluation by the internship sponsor.
  4. Analyze professional standards, cultural norms and related personal implications by synthesizing observations and experiences from the workplace experience.
