 Course Description  

Provides a basic foundation for the management of one or more companies operating at a structural fire emergency. Uses simulations to apply concepts and develop skills.

 Prerequisite  

Prerequisite: FIRE 102 with minimum C grade or department chair approval.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Organize and prepare for response to emergencies through a clear understanding of the protection problem and resources available to mitigate it.
2. Establish an incident management system that is effective and safe for a variety of emergency scenarios.
3. Employ effective strategies and tactics in mitigating emergencies and saving lives.
4. Understand the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in tactical operations.
5. Communicate effectively to everyone involved in tactical operations.
6. Understand and work with the emergency scene environment and emergency behavior factors.
