Group counseling skills for working with addicted clients in residential and outpatient treatment settings. Includes best practices, emerging practices and other major counseling theories and techniques.

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Understand and practice group dynamics and the types and effects of group process in substance use disorder treatment.
2. Develop a working knowledge of current Best Practices group therapies for substance use disorder counseling.
3. Develop an understanding of the diverse needs of various populations seeking services through substance use disorder programs.
