Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

1. Demonstrate safe boat handling techniques
2. Demonstrate good navigational practices
3. Demonstrate knowledge of the inland and international rules of the road
4. Identify potential dangerous installations of equipment of marine environments
5. Demonstrate safe handling of fuels and stoves in various boat types
6. Demonstrate proper usage of marine communications equipment
7. Demonstrate a knowledge of local weather phenomenon and climatology
8. Demonstrate a knowledge of proper actions for preservation of marine ecology
9. Contact proper authority in case of emergency or violation of local state, or federal law
