Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Develop and/or maintain cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility.
  2. Better understand aerobic exercise and the benefits of cardiovascular conditioning.
  3. Determine his/her own target heart rate and monitor heart rate during aerobic exercise.
  4. Understand the importance of warm-up and cool-down.
  5. Identify simultaneous muscle groups as they are used during exercise.
  6. Respond and exercise to a variety of music and ethnic rhythms.
